New Product Design / Project Engineer -Actuators- (JO 091102)
Our client is introducing a new actuator technology that is both economical and compact. The candidate hired will design a line of actuators to replace servo and stepper motors in a wide range of commercial and comsumer products. These are small mechanical and electromechanical devices that will be manufactured in very high (millions per year) volume. Product applications include toys, medical products, appliances, latches, switches, etc. You will design moving parts (cams, linkages), packaging and attachment assemblies. Your knowledge of best practices in the consumer and commericial product areas will be essential to our success. You will design, specify materials and test programs, and guide engineers in these techniques.
Requires: A BS / MS and 5 or more years of experience in the design of simple, low cost plastic and electromechanical assemblies. Excellent communications skills for leadership responsibilities and contact with clients. You will be proficient in solid modelling, and expert in the design of plastic moldings, metal stampings, powdered metals, MIM, stress analysis, finite element analysis and design for manufacturing.
Starting Salary around $90K to $110 K/yr. depending upon experience. Position in San Diego.

This firm is a seccessful and well-established manufacturer of material handling and metal forming machines to product components for use in the industrial process and energy industries. The opportunity is for a management level project engineer to lead a small team in the ongoing product improvement and sustaining engineering function as well as the development of new machines. These are computerized systems involving precision movement, cutters, optics and tracking sytems. Normal electronic/electrical packaging, machine control and software development functions will be a part of your responsibilities. ok-and-feel design issues.
Requires: A BS or MS in Engineering and 5 or more years experience in the development of computerized industrial machines. A broad base of knowledge emphasizing mechanicl machine design with an understanding of the electrical and software requirements to build a successful system is essential. Candidate should enjoy a fast-paced environment and working on a variety of designs.
Starting Salary in the range of $85K/yr. to $95K/yr.

This position will suit a hands-on machine and process oriented engineer who enjoys optimizing the processes, tooling, fixtures and equipment systems to assemble and package products built up of plastic moldings. Our client is expanding its local production facilities and you can play a key role in this growing, local company. Manufacturing a variety of products means that the production lines and work cells need to be flexible to accommodate variations in the product and production runs. You will do a mix of design, process development/improvement, project management and facilities work. An understanding of the special requirements of GMP will be helpful.
Requires: A B S in engineering and 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing/process engineering. Experience in the automated and semi automated assembly of molded plastic parts is essential, as is experience in equipment development and layout, tooling and fixture design. Central location is easy to reach from anywhere in the County.
Starting Salary to ~ $95 K/yr.
